 Rudisha truimps in UK

Rudisha wins Kaki with a late kick after 650m of the race.

London, UK, Friday, 5th Aug 2011

Kenyan World Record holder Rudisha battled with Kaki and won the 800m race in the UK, London with an amazing and progressively improving time of 1:42.91, setting a championship by improving Steve Cram's time of 1min 43.22sec, when the latter won the 1986 Commonwealth title in Edinburgh. The pacemaker brought Rudisha to a 49.61sec and in the 350metres to go, the pacemaker was disappearing from the scene with Rudisha focusing on pushing for a very good time, running a solo race.

Kaki, in the recent 1500 metres at this year’s Monaco, clocked a big personal best from 3:39 to 3:31, finishing the with a season’s best time of 1:43.13, with Boaz Lalang of Kenya finishing third in 1:44.13.
