Rudisha: Relaxed and Ready is the winning formula

David Rudisha relaxing in Daegu Stadium, Korea

Rudisha, who made minor changes to his training said to the reporters “I’ve trained hard, I’m ready.” “That is the only formula.” He's recovering from an ankle injury a few months ago have made him do some form of adjustment. The reason Rudisha gave was to win and not to go for a very fast time so as to not risk injury.

He told the reporters," It’s about winning, not a World record. It’s going to be a tactical race".

Things are still mysterious whether he will run from the front or run from behind. He told reporters, “When you run from behind, that is when you can get problems fighting for position.”

Rudisha told that it is very important for him to win the race in the World Championships 2011 taking into consideration that Rudisha has a good record in championship races from schools, to World juniors to African championships.

In summary, Rudisha said that he would like to win but it should not go as far as he has something to prove in Daegu. Rudisha told reporters. "When Sebastian Coe set the World record at 1:41.73 they said it would be hard to break. When Wilson Kipketer broke that, they said it would take a miracle to break his record. So when it happened they knew it was a very special thing.”
