David Rudisha enters finals

800m men Finals - David Rudisha and Alfred Kirwa Yego are in the finals.


Rudisha did a 51.4sec for the 400m in the 3rd heats of the 800m race. David drove home with a 1min 44.20sec. The other person to qualify from the heats was Polish Adam kszczot who obtained 1min 44.81sec and came in second in the heats. Davide from Brazil was out of the contention when he came with a time of 1min 45.06sec for the heats.

In heat two, American Nick Simmonds and Russian Yuriy Borzakovskiy qualified with the same time of 1min 45.73sec. Of the three heats, this heats was the slowest. 

In heat one, featuring Polish Marcin Lewandowski, it was found that 4 athletes qualified. Since it was two fastest per heats to qualify and the next two to qualify came from the next best two-timing. In heat one, the 3rd placing and 4th placing consisting of Sudanese Abubaker Kaki and Kenyan Alfred Kirwa Yego, qualified with a timing of 1min 44.62sec and 1min 44.82sec, respectively. In heat one, Ethiopian Mohammed Amman came in first with a time of 1min 44.57sec while Marcin Lewandowski came in second with a time of 1min 44.60sec. Amman did a personal best in the race. 

Overall, still, David posted the best time of the day in the 2nd Day of World Track and Field Championships 2011.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’  by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).

He also has a Coaching group and he trains them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm at Botanic Gardens. Those interested can call him at 91004369 for coaching assistance, to improve performance.
