Eliud Kiptanui, favourite to win in Langueux 10Km Race

Eliud Kiptanui breaks the course record with a 2:05:39 run in Prague

Summary of the upcoming race.
Eliud Kiptanui, from Kenya, is the favourite to win in the 21st edition of the Corrida de Langueux, an IAAF Bronze Label Road Race,  which is on Saturday 25.

22-year-old Eliud Kiptanui became well known to the world in 2010 when he did extremely well in the Prague Marathon, doing a time of 2:05:39. That means that he was the eighth fastest in the World in 2010. However, this season he has been plagued by injuries and being affected during races. His agent Volker Wagner indicated that he is perfectly fit for the Corrida.

Eliud Kiptanui may be going for the course record time of 27:56 set by Moroccan Abdella Falil in 2007. 2010 champion  Ethiopian Azmeraw Bekele is not running, hence his two runners-up Mourad Morafit of Morocco and Onesphore Nkunzimana of Burundi are the main opponents. His teammate Mohamed El Hachimi, fifth last year in Langueux, may aim for a podium finish. The young Atsedu Tsegay, sixth in the 5000m at the World Junior Championships last year, will run for Ethiopia.
