Bangalore, Jun 5: Kenyan Philemon Limo (28min 01sec) ran and won the men's overall title in the TCS World 10K Bangalore, 2011 beating his countrymen Titus Mbishei, the defending champion, and former world record holder Micah Kogo. It was concluded in Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday. Limo was ten seconds away from the course record of 27min 51sec.

Second and third position went to Leonard Langat (28min09sec) and Ethiopian Lilesa (28min 13sec), respectively, in the same race.

It was a photo finish as Dune had to pip countrymate Merima Mohammed at the finish. Both clocked same timing for the race doing 33min 19sec, while Beliaynesh Ojira finished third in 33.20 to complete the Ethiopian sweep.

The weather was relatively cool but the humidity was increasing as the athletes proceeded further. At the 4km mark Limo who broke from the rest and surged ahead.
