Mutai broke the world record unofficially in Boston Marathon 2011
Boston, USA - Boston Marathon champions Geoffrey Mutai and Caroline Kilel will be competing in the inaugural B.A.A. 10K on Sunday 26 June 2011. At the 115th Boston Marathon on 18 April, the 29-year old Mutai ran the world’s fastest marathon in 2hr 03min 02 sec, 57 seconds faster than the official World record time of 2:03:59 set by Haile Gebrselassie at the 2008 Berlin Marathon. Mutai has a 10km PB of 27:39 (2009).
Also returning to Boston will be Moses Mosop of Kenya and Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia, the runner-up and third-place finishers at Boston this year. Mosop has broken 25,000m and 30,000m World record mark on the track earlier this month and has a personal best in the 10km of 28:04 (2004). Gebremariam from Ethiopia is trying to better his own personal best of 27:41 (2010).
2011 Boston Marathon 30-year-old champion Caroline Kilel is also competing in the women 10km race.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’ by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).
He also has a Coaching group and he trains them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm at Botanic Gardens. Those interested can call him at 91004369 for coaching assistance, to improve performance.
