Sitonik’s gets the fifth gold medal in 3000m in World Youth champs, Lille, France.
William Malel Sitonik wins the world Youth 3000m
Lille, France - On Day 5, William Malel Sitonik, became the fifth Kenyan 3000m gold medal winner. He broke the World championships record of 7min 40.10sec.In last Championships two years ago in Bressanone. Kenyan Isiah Koech posted 7min 51.51sec. Sitonik and Patrick Mutunga Mwikya were running alongside brushing Osman Adem of Eritrea. Patrick Mutunga did 7min 40.47sec, with Adem doing 7min 40.89sec. Sitonik did the 400m, 800m and 1km in 59.55sec, 1min 58.21sec and 2min 28.54sec, respectively.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’ by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).
