Bahrain Athletes Dominate 5000m and 10000m men and women race.

Picture 1 - Tejitu Daba Chalchissa came in 1st for 5000m



Bahrain runners by the name of Tejitu Daba Chalchissa (in women open) and Dejenee Regasa Mootumaa (in men open) won the 5,000-meter races at the Asian Athletics Championships today, Day 2 of the Championships. A day before, on Friday, the 10000m was won by another 2 Bahrain runners as well. 

Ethiopian born Mootuma, the men 5000m race came in first doing a time of 13min 39.71sec, while the second and third position went to Japanese Yuki Sato and Bahrain's Alemu Bekele, respectively. Sato took second in 13:40.78 and Gebre was next in 13:41.93.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’  by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).

He also has a Coaching group and he trains them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm at Botanic Gardens. Those interested can call him at 91004369 for coaching assistance, to improve performance.
