Ministry of Education Olive Charity Run (5km, 10km Run and 2.5km walk)

There will be 2 broad categories; Closed and Open.
Closed Category is for the staff of MOE only. Open categories will be for Independent Schools, NIE trainee teachers and all family members. Age is calculated as of 1st Jan 2012. MOE officers will have to create an account in order to register for themselves and their family members. MOE staff will also be able to register their colleagues for the Team Competition.

Team Event and Individual Event
The MOE OLive Charity Run 2012 will have both a competitive (5km individual and team & 10km individual race) and recreational (2.5km*) element. The event hopes to attract up to 4000 participants from MOE HQ and schools, Independent schools, NIE trainee teachers and all family members. Ms Ho Peng, Director-General of Education, will be the Guest-of-Honour.
 

A) The objectives of OLive Charity Run are as follows:
a) To promote and support a healthy lifestyle amongst MOE HQ and school staff and their families
b) To encourage staff and family bonding
c) To raise funds for the President’s Challenge (20% of entry fee)
B) Details of the event are as follows:

Eligibility: Open to all MOE staff from HQ & Schools, Independent Schools, NIE Trainee Teachers & all immediate family members

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’  by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).

He also has a Coaching group and he trains them on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm at Botanic Gardens. Those interested can call him at 91004369 for coaching assistance, to improve performance.
