Brendan did 57min 13sec. He was 8th in the 20 to 29 year old and is also Ashley's training partner as well. Overall position, he was ranked as 20th and he shared with us on the race through an interview.

An Interview With Brendan Lee

What was the target for this race?
I did not have any targets as I was only doing runs 2-3x a week and cycling once a week. I decided to try for a sub 12 min first 3km and maintain above 36km/h on the bike and just run as hard as possible for the 2nd run leg
How was the race route?
Apart from the muddy field which we have to run in, I think that the route was not too bad for a relatively small race.
Did you enjoy taking part yesterday?
Yes I did.
Are you happy with the result?
I am quite happy with my first run leg as well as the bike leg. I had stitches during the 2nd run which means that I had to jog very slowly for the last 1.5km.
Can you elaborate on the race organisation as a whole?
I think that the race organisation was pretty good. The run route was well marshalled and at no point was there confusion. That said, I wish that the non-drafting rules are more stringent. I saw people getting warned for drafting multiple times but there was no penalty for them. This is very different in other triathlon races where you get a time penalty and have to spend some time in the sin bin.
How was your training like for this event?
I was swimming 2-3x a week as the big picture is still for triathlons. Apart from that I ran 2-3x a week and bike once a week. Total mileage for swim was around 5km, bike 80km and run 30km.
What is your next target?
The bintan triathlon. I hope to do a PB there.
