Cold Storage Run 2013 (1.6km for 9 and 10 and for 11 to 12 years and 800m for 6 and above)

Cold Storage Kids Run 2013

The Cold Storage Kids Run started in 2008, It is an annual running event for kids that aims to encourage the young ones to start early with a healthy lifestyle and eating.

We went down to support Team Flexifitness athletes for the Cold Storage Run 2013.

We had 10 of our athletes running in the race and they did well. In the 11 to 12 years old, our runner by the name of Armand s/o Mohan came in 3rd in the first wave out of two of the 1.6km race. In the 7 to 8 years old categories for boys, 3 of our athletes ran can came in top 30 for the race. The actual results will be out in one or two days. In 9 to 10 years of age 1.6km run for girls, our runner Divyatta came in top 20.

This is the most number that we have sent for 12 years and below race and we are proud of this achievement. Our intention is to create an awareness of healthy lifestyle in our athletes and have fun during the race. At the same time, we would like to support the charitable aim of the race organisers as well.

We also found parents supporting the children in the race. In one race, we saw grandparents, parents and children running together in the race and it was unique. Research shows that when parents also take part in sports, the children will be in sports for long. Parents who were there today were setting good examples for the children to follow a healthy lifestyle for their child in the long run. We applaud them for this effort.
