Brinda Veerapan - Got second position for Tanjong Katong Secondary 1 girls race.

We all know Brinda as a primary 5 student who joined in our Team Flexifitness Young Champions Programme. She did 12min plus for the 1.5km test, where she was walking most of the time and running less. This was somewhere in July 2011. We were slightly overweight at first. Her parents felt that it was all in the genes. However, since the day she joined our programme she was no more overweight. People have commented to me that she is slim now and they could not believe their eyes.

In addition to this, it was found that her leg strength was weak at that time. We made a specific assessment for this. Over a period of time, she brought her time down for 1.5km from 12 min plus to 10min plus to sub -8min and right now she is capable of doing a sub-7min for her 1.5km run test.

In one of our test for 2.4km recently, she has done a sub-12min. Her time was 11min 56sec. She is secondary one now and a student of Tanjong Katong Girls' School. With once a week training, she has run in the school's cross-country race recently, two weeks ago, and did Team Flexifitness proud by coming in the second position in the race. For overall sec 1 and sec 2 combined, she was ranked 8th. She showed both these medals to me on Mother's Day while I was giving out the gifts to the mothers of our athletes to commemorate Mother's Day. I congratulated her on her achievement.

We also remember celebrating her 13th Birthday at NUS in one of the function room on March 20. It was a memorable day as we had food, games and laughter. We would like to share some of these photos to the readers.
