Haile Gebrselassie - Wins half-marathon in Vienna before winning 10km at Manchester.

Haile Gebrselassie won the Great Manchester Run for the fourth time. He was running very close to Chris Thompson until the 8km where he pulled away from Chris Thompson of Britain and win on Sunday. Chris Thompson told that the next time he will come back stronger. Haile commented that Chris got him worried until the 8km mark.

Gebrselassie, the marathon world-record holder who won the event in 2005, 2009 and 2010, posted a time of 28 minutes, 10 seconds in wet and windy conditions during the race.

He was also surprised with Chris Thompson who made him run for his money. It was a tough race and Haile had to strategically move up after 8km, because of the worry of a hard fight at the end of the race. Haile admired Chris's courage and predicted that this athlete will go far.

The 38-year-old Gebrselassie briefly retired after the New York City Marathon in November. However, he returned from knee injuries last month by winning a half marathon in Vienna.
