Vajrasana - Diamond Pose/Thunderbolt Pose

As shown in the figure below, bend both knees and just sit like how the Japanese people sit down in this posture in some instances. The ankle, while sitting down should be outstretched.


It is one such exercise where one could be sitting in this pose while watching TV or reading a book.


It is good to sit 20 sec to 1min in this pose.












Benefits of Vajrasana











1. One gets relief from the illnesses of the neck, back low-back as well as hips, knees & ankle joints.



2. Improves the function of the hip, knee & ankle joints.



3. Eliminates gas problem and indigestion



4. Strengthens the pelvic muscles.



5. Prevents excess wind formation.



6. Prevents stomach disorder.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’  by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).
