What kind of diet were on in the past, when you weighed 87kg?
I was not careful about my diet. My observation was that I got addicted easily earlier on with fried food. I used to eat nasi lemak, roti prata, and a number of sweet stuff like the pineapple tarts. I had a little self-control. If you give me a packet of 20 to 30 tarts, I could single-handedly eat them all. I used to eat late as well and I did not know how to regulate my diet. 

What did you do to bring down the weight to 77kg?
It is not just exercise that helped me. It was also me being careful with my diet as well. I gave up whatever I liked and brought in fruits and vegetables into my diet. I decided to take non-oily food like thosai and idly.

What about your lifestyle improvement?
I was mixing around with the parents of Flexifitness and decided to follow them in training. The parents were a very friendly group and I like to join them regularly. I have a lot of friends from the group.

Any particular diet that has helped you lose more weight?
Coach Rameshon and Flexifitness Coaches have taught us to eat carefully. It is hard to discuss here as I have to go into a lot of details. Basically, I decided to eat more healthy food like brown rice, chapati, etc. 

Are you sad about missing your favourite foods?
I was missing my favourite food earlier on. Now, I don't.

Any last word that you would like to say to the people who are overweight?
Do not become overweight. If you are one of them, do something about it and do not delay time at all. If you are severely overweight, one must do a structured approach to bring down your weight to do something to reduce one's weight. I am thankful from the bottom of my heart to all Flexifitness Coaches for their enthusiasm in helping me reduce my weight.

Rameshon has taught in Hwa Chong Institution, plus several schools, and Republic Polytechnic as well. He has won many accolades and he was awarded Merit Award for 1991 marathon performance in breaking the national record of Singapore, at that time. He has made 22 male athletes do a marathon in sub-3hrs. He has made 7 female runners do sub-4 hours for the marathon, as well. He was inducted to the ‘Roll of Honour’  by the then College of Physical Education, organised by Singapore Olympic Academy, in 1998, for breaking the National record repeatedly 4 times, till he did 2hr 24min 22sec).
