Shaharuddin Hashim - The Malaysian runner who is aiming to break the National Malaysian Record in the future

Picture 1 - Shaharuddin on the right is passionate about marathon running, with Ashley Liew.

I met Malaysia's top runner by name of Shaharuddin, 36 years of age, from Semarak, an inspector by profession, in Hong Kong. He is representing Malaysia. I told him that I have written on his coming in first local in the Penang Marathon 2010, with a time of 2hr 47min. He told me that he has read this in my blog. I told him that his coach Chidambaram, former national runner of Malaysia and are friends. He became aware of it.

Shaharuddin told me about the problem of waking up too early for the Penang Marathon last year. He also told me that the weather and the humidity and heat made things difficult to run.

Today, during the route orientation, Shaharuddin told me that the route is tough, filled with numerous upslope and downslope highways. We were told that the coaches will be transported from the start of the race to the finish point of the race. They do not want us to be at the highways as it can be dangerous.

After the Technical Officials' meeting, both Shaharuddin and I went to a shop to get food. I got my vegetarian food and he got his halal food.

After that, I told him that I would like to interview him in my blog and he gladly accepted it.
