Singapore's track and field athletes fail to qualify for YOG

Chan U-Gene Report

The Straits Times

SINGAPORE's track and field athletes have failed to qualify for the Youth Olympic Games via the two-day Asian Zone Qualification, which ended yesterday.
The eight boys and eight girls were unable to secure a place in the Aug 14-26 event against the likes of bigger nations such as China, Kazakhstan and Japan.

However, the advantage of being the host nation allows the Republic to submit a wild-card entry of five boys and five girls, should they be unable to qualify directly.
